Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive CUZ – immediate transport to Urubamba or Ollantaytambo (Sacred Valley of Incas). Overnight in the Sacred Valley and visit the last living Incan town of Ollantaytambo which features a lower altitude for acclimatization. Your afternoon here will be free. We’ll gather at 6p for a tour briefing and then enjoy a local dinner.
Day 2
Sacred Valley tours, Pisac, Ollanta, return to hotel by 4p, free afternoon and evening…nice town to walk very safe, lots of local restaurants
Day 3
Maras, Morais and Salineras tour 3rd night in hotel Ollanta/Urubamba 2800m/9000ft
Day 4
Walk from Ollanta along Inca trail to Antanuca, optional zipline, photos etc… visit Yachaywasy, welcome ceremony with Eduardo, arrive Antanuca mid day, enjoy a Pachamanca lunch (takes 5 hours to cook in the ground). They will see the oven and food cooking stones will be hot and the food will be put on the stones, takes 1 hour to cook. Settled in tents, relax, explore gardens…. If staying in the capsules/domes it’s a 20 minute work to the condor view and Veronica glacier…unique view. No one else has this spectactular view. Fire at the evening, hot showers. And sleep on a real mattress. 3000m/10000ft
Day 5
Trekking: early start (7a) start from Antanuca, after an organic breakfast, hike to Onora (approx. 45 minutes) bosque native con arboles con mas de 600 anos, vamos a connectarnos al espirtu de los arboles and ver al cataratta de los guardienes de los Apus, subimos hasta el abra (mountain pass) el abra del diablo. Un incredible vista del valle de Machu Picchu, y vista de veronika donde vamos al ver al canal Inca water for the temple of the sun. arrive to Yanaqocha lake, total hike 5 hours. Arrive for lunch and camp overnight. This is a private view. No one else will be here.
Walk 1.5 hours more after lunch to campsite at Onora Pampa campsite with fresh, clean water. Hot showers available. Mid afternoon, campfire, meditation/ ceremony with Shaman, enjoy amazing view. Relax..fresh towels, this is not your typical trekking experience. You get the best of both worlds with the privacy you want. You will not be on the Inca Trail with 500 other people departing each day. In every campsite and location you’re the only group. 4200m/13700ft Same altitude of the Inca trail.
Day 6
Up early, breakfast, see the sunrise, leave and all downhill to Choquebamba, about 3 horus downhill, lunch there, visit Puma marca and visit the ruins and incan houses. Continue along a beautiful Inca trail to the pyramids of the half moon. About 1.5 hours all downhill. Total walking 5 hours. After arrive Ollanta and overnight.
Day 7
Early morning board train to Aguas Calientes, train about 1.5 hours arrive Aguas and go right up to Machu Pichu and back to CUZ (day bag only). Tour ends with train back to CUZ in the evening for the final night hotel. Bags will be taken from Ollanta hotel to CUZ and meet the clients’ train
Day 8
CUZ city tour…and tour of area. Free evening for shopping. Next day they are free to leave. Tour ends with a farewell dinner where they each receive the photos and marketing collateral.
See local people still using the incan terraces for farming and water channels. Name Choquebamba go to Pumamarka after.
