Overview

Cusco without a doubt does not stop surprising us since in it are the most curious and uncommon landscapes sometimes we can even say almost interplanetary landscapes as the mountain of colors place that you can know about them here that is the mountain of colors.

The humantay lagoon is formed as a product of the thawing of a great snow-covered mountain that in turn is part of a mountain chain called the vilcabamba mountain range.

What makes the humantay lagoon characteristic is the natural color that it possesses because not having much marine flora in its waters has an indescribable color in words, but understandable to the eyes, forming a unique landscape when travelers seek to capture the ideal moment with their cameras that has so much desire to capture landscapes experiences and moments all this and more make it an ideal place to visit if you travel to Cusco Peru.

However, the geographical environment of this lagoon is also unique since it serves as the first camp on the Salkantay tour.

Humantay Private tour :

Locals to the area know Humantay Lake as Laguna Humantay and it is thought that the Laguna was a sacred area to the Incas. It was commonplace that people would leave sacred offers on the edges surrounding the lake. Nowadays, humantay lagoon tour is often visited by shamans and other spiritual travelers, as well as hikers and those who want to find this hidden sacred beauty. Many people still continue the tradition of making these stone offerings.

Humantay lake day tour :

The offerings left scattered around the lake are highly visible. People of this region call them Apachetas. Apachetas as mounds made from stacking rocks on top of other rocks. Sometimes the mounds are small, other times the mounds are large. The Apachetas is offered to a deity of the Inca culture named Pachamama.

What to see in Laguna Humantay :

At the top is the treasure! Magnificent Blue Lagoon, otherwise known as Laguna Humantay, which is an incredible and unforgettable shade of deep turquoise with the snow-capped Humantay glacial mountainsin the background! Of course, descent is usually a bit quicker than your initial climb, and when we get to the bottom, we’ll have a nice lunch prepared to reward you! With our hearts and bellies full, we will start our 3-hour return to Cusco in our private van.
